Seamus Awl. The package is most likely has a lock in UTC time and checks a remote server to verify the time. If this is the case, and I suspect it is, you can change your TimeZone to what ever you want.
It won't matter to the lock. If you buy the North American version, you will be subjugated to the terms outlined in the description for it. Even if you switch to New Zealand after buying the US version, you'll still have to wait till 12am PST, as they lock that regions version until then.
